Join on Telegram Rabat – The Moroccan Parliament has ratified the government program proposed by the Head of Government, Saad Eddine Othmani.
Othmani has stated that the decision, announced Wednesday, April 26, was “an important and historic moment.”
The decision follows the ratification of the Government program by the majority of the Members of the Parliament, which gave Othmani’s government the legitimacy of parliamentary inauguration.
Othmani has expressed his jubilation at the event.
“[This is] an important and historical moment for us – the government now is confirmed by the parliament,” pointed out Othmani.
The Head of Government also thanked the Members of the Parliaments, who he said “enriched the government program with their observations, comments, suggestions and also their criticism,” noting that the discussion sessions “embodied the national democracy” and the interest of the representatives of the people in the contents of the program.
Othmani explained that all comments and criticism of the socio-economic program received from citizens, associations, and political parties, and unions would be “taken into account.”
The Head of Government also addressed the issue of the technocrats that are included in his government. He rejected that “the technocratic ministers would exercise hegemony in the government,” stating that his government has the second-lowest number of technocrats in the history of Morocco.
“Contrary to what has been said and written, this government is homogeneous,” he emphasized.
Othmani also underlined that the “priorities” of his program are Morocco’s African policy, parallel diplomacy, the development of the southern provinces, the industry, and the fight against corruption.
