Rabat – Revenues from Morocco’s vegetable exports to Poland amounted to $2.7 million in 2022, new data has shown.
The agriculture-focused website East Fruit reported today that Poland’s vegetable imports from Morocco have been increasing in the past five years – with tomatoes topping the list of main Moroccan exports.
“Poland turned out to be one of the most interesting markets for the development of Moroccan tomato exports, and tomatoes account for about 9% of the total vegetable imports in Poland,” the website reported.
However, Poland remains loyal to its traditional tomato markets, including Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and France.
Morocco’s exports are advancing, positioning the North African country as the 28th largest supplier in 2022.
Many other countries also showed interest in Morocco’s vegetable exports, including Romania. Morocco’s exports jumped to $1.3 million last year. This developing progress makes Morocco the 21st largest supplier of vegetables to Romania.
Norway is also increasing its interest in Morocco’s goo with tomatoes accounting for 97% in Moroccan vegetable exports to the country.
“The revenues from exports grew 57 times and reached $1.3 mln in 2022,” the data added, stressing that this enabled Morocco to become the 20th largest supplier of vegetables to Norway.
The Czech Republic and Belgium are also among Morocco’s clients.
Revenues from Moroccan vegetable exports to the Czech Republic reached 2.5 million last year, representing a 35-fold increase compared to 2018, the data stressed, adding that Morocco is now the 18th largest supplier of vegetables to the country.
Belgium’s imports from Morocco also positioned the North African country as the 23rd largest supplier of vegetables to the European country.
