Moroccan authorities have arrested a 52-year-old teacher after a schoolgirl who accuses him of attempted rape posted a video of him apparently masturbating in class, newspapers reported Thursday.
“The king’s prosecutor in Casablanca decided on Tuesday to take into the custody the protagonist of the video, where it appears he is masturbating behind his desk during class,” the Assabah daily wrote.
One of his teenage female students shot the video with her mobile phone and posted it on YouTube and Moroccan websites. When contacted by AFP, the Al Kindi school in the city of Casablanca where the teacher works confirmed the arrest but would not provide further details.
Assabah reported that the teacher had attempted to rape the schoolgirl during private lessons and added that the suspect had denied the charges against him when interrogated by police.
