Morocco receives best stand prize at East Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition

Istanbul, February 13, 2012 (MAP)

The 16th East Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT), held in Istanbul, awarded its best stand prize to Morocco.

EMITT, which run from 9 until February 12, awarded its best stand prize to the 100-square meter Moroccan stand which was set up by Morocco’s tourism office (ONMT).

During the EMITT, the fifth largest tourism exhibition in the world, the Moroccan stand drew tourists, professionals, Turkish and foreign media as well as Turkish officials, such as the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ertugrul Gunay.

Morocco’s participation in the EMITT is aimed at drawing more Turkish tourists and showcasing Morocco’s tourism attractions. In this respect, Director of the Middlea East and Asia in the ONMT Taibi Khattab said that Turkish tourists who visited Morocco in 2011 rose 16% to reach 24,000.

EMITT brought together more than 4500 participants from over 60 countries.
