Morocco’s model of interfaith dialogue was highlighted during the recently held 5th annual meeting of the Muslims of Lorraine (France’ North-east).
The meeting was held in the city of Forbach by the Rally of French Muslims (RMF) with the attendance of Morocco’s Consul General in Strasbourg Youssef Balla, who shed light on Morocco’s efforts to promote interfaith dialogue and bring civilisations and peoples closer.
Balla briefed the gathering about the initiatives taken by Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in favour of inter-religious dialogue, saying that the Kingdom continues to draw upon Islam’s precepts of tolerance, generousity and solidarity in line with universal values.
Highlighting the diversity of the constituents of the Moroccan identity, the Balla said that Morocco has always been a heaven for interfaith and inter-cultural cohesion.
The Moroccan diplomat expressed the Kingdom’s support for the multilateral initiatives in the field of inter-religious dialogue, which, he said, is the best safeguard against violence, intolerance and extremism.
