Rabat, May 7, 2012 (MAP)

Senegalese Foreign Minister Alioune Badara highlighted, on Monday in Rabat, the Kingdom’s important role in Africa, saying that the African Union is inconceivable without Morocco.

Without Morocco, the African Union is like a body whose part is missing preventing it from going or seeing far, the Senegalese Minister told the Press following talks with Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani.

On Morocco’s territorial integrity, the Senegalese official reiterated his countries steady position regarding the Sahara issue.

“We support Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern part of its territories,” Badara said, adding that “this stand will not change. The heads of state succeeded to run the country but our stand remained unchanged.

“Morocco’s sovereignty over its territories is indisputable,” he stressed.

The Senegalese Minister also commended Morocco’s democratic transition process, adding that the Moroccan and Senegalese model scan serve as examples for Africa.
