Rabat, May 1, 2012 (MAP)

The implementation of the provisions of the Constitution and respect for trade union freedoms were on Tuesday the main demands of the working class during parades marking the Labor Day.

The parades marched through the main streets of big cities, during which the marchers chanted slogans calling for improving the living and working conditions through increasing wages and respect for trade union law and freedoms.

Unionists commemorate this Day in a particular national and international context marked by the adoption of a new constitution, the creation of a new government, political and social upheavals in the Arab world and a global economic crisis.

Moroccan working class took the opportunity to reiterate its position as a united front in defending the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, the liberation of Moroccan Spanish-occupied cities of Sebta et Melillia, renewing also its unconditional support to the Palestinian people in their heroic struggle for the establishment of their independent state with Al Quds as its capital.

This day was also marked by the participation of Amnesty International through the establishment of a stand which displays reports on the situation of human rights in Morocco and in some Arab countries.
