Fez – The 8th edition of the Amazigh Culture Festival will be held on July 13-15 in Fez with the participation of a group of Moroccan and foreign thinkers, researchers, artists and civil society representatives.
The festival is an initiative by the Spirit of Fez Foundation, Fez Saiss Association and South-North Center in partnership with the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture. This initiative is an opportunity for experts, writers, researchers and civil society representatives to discuss issues related to mother tongues: Tamazight language with all its varieties and Arabic; immigration, cultural exchange and its contribution to the development of the Euro-Maghrebian dialogue.
In this cultural event, the participants will highlight the importance of the historical, social and anthropological dimensions of multiculturalism, as well as the role of migration in promoting cultural exchange and enhancing intercultural dialogue, social cohesion and the culture of democracy.
The participants will also draw the attention of thinkers, civil society representatives and decision-makers to the importance of mother tongues and the social, cultural, political, and historical specificities of Morocco and the other Maghreb countries.
The festival will also discuss the positive impact of migration and the role of intercultural dialogue in establishing peace, democracy and sustainable development and heritage preservation.
Within the framework of the festival, two round-tables will be organized to promote Amazigh and Popular cultures, under the themes: “Mother Tongue and the Moroccan Community Abroad” and “Amazigh and Popular Songs and Poetry”.
This event will also be an occasion to honor several Amazigh personalities from different fields for their efforts to promote and support Amazigh culture both at the national and international levels.
