The Solar Impulse aircraft crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on Tuesday from Spain on the first intercontinental flight by a plane powered by the sun’s rays, Morocco’s solar energy agency said.
“The plane has just entered Moroccan airspace after having crossed the Straits of Gibraltar in good weather conditions,” the head of the agency, Mustapha Bakkoury, told AFP by telephone.
