Morocco’s Najat El Garraa clinched Africa’s first gold medal in the track and field at the London Paralympics Games on Friday August 31, 2012.

The Moroccan Athlete, Najat El Garraa, made the event last Friday in London by breaking a new world record of (32.37) in the women’s discus (F40).

Najat El Garraa Managed to break the world record (32.37m), advancing the Tunisian athlete, RaouaTlili, who clinched the silver medal by a record of (32.16 m) while the bronze medal went to the Chinese, Meng Genjimisu, (30.44m).

Najat’s sister, Layla El Garraa, came in the fourth place at a record of (25.57 m).

Najat El Garraa dedicated the first gold medal for Morocco in the track and field competitions for women in Paralympics Games organized in London from August 29 to September 9, 2012.
