ROME, Oct 24, 2012 (AFP)
Ansaldo Energia, a subsidiary of Italian aerospace giant Finmeccanica, said on Wednesday that it had won a contract worth 300 million euros ($388 million) to supply an Algerian power plant.
Ansaldo Energia “will supply the Hassi Messaoud open cycle power plant, with a total rated output of more than 660 MW,” the company said.
The contract was awarded by a subsidiary of Sonelgaz, Algeria’ state-owned electricity and gas utility.
“This project further strengthens Ansaldo Energias cooperation with Sonelgaz as one of the main development partners in Algerias strategic electric power production plan,” the group said.
