Marrakesh Best African Destination

Taroudant- The city of Marrakesh can be distinguished, once again, for its flamboyant charm that enchants visitors from all parts of the world.

Marrakesh has been selected as the best African tourist destination for the year 2012, by the Word Travel Awards, an institution that rewards and celebrates excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.

According to the website of the foundation, the choice of the city of Marrakesh was made through a voting process by specialists in the tourism industry from 171 countries.

The city’s Royal Mansour Hotel was aslo named “Africa’s Leading Hotel” in a category that included The Palace of the Lost City (South Africa), Fairmont The Norfolk (Kenya) and Grand Hyatt Cairo (Egypt).

Amanjena Hotel, a Moroccan top luxury hotel located in the pulsating medina of Marrakech, was voted “Africa’s Leading Luxury Resort.”

The city of Marrakesh has already been selected as sixth best tourist destination in the world by travel website (Trip Advisor), after a vote of thousands of travelers all over the world.

Last July VirtualTourist.com, ranked Marrakesh as among the “Top Ten Best Street Food Cities” that provides tourists and passers-by with mouth-watering meals.

Marrakech was the only African and Arab city listed in the “Top Ten Best Street Food Cities.”
