Mediterranean games: Morocco’s Issan Chernoubi wins gold medal in -80 kg Taekwondo

Mursin (Turkey) – June 24, 2013 (MAP)

Morocco’s Issam Chernoubi won the gold medal in the -80 kg taekwondo competition of the 17th Mediterranean games currently held in Turkey.

Chernoubi beat in the finals Tunisian Oussama Oueslati.

This is Morocco’s second gold medal in the Mediterranean games, after Yassine Moudatir also went gold on Saturday in the -60 kg judo competition.

In the -67 kg women judo competition, Morocco’s Hakima El Meslahy grabbed a silver medal after losing against Turkey’s Nur Tatar while another Moroccan female athlete, Lamyaa Bekkali, took the bronze medal in the -57 kg category.
