Smara, Morocco- Passengers who travel from Tan Tan Airport in the south of Morocco complain about the total absence of any means of transportation available to reach the airport office once they arrive in the main door of the airport.
Travelers are forced to walk for nearly three kilometers from the entry of the airport to the check-in desk in a deserted open space with no security or human presence.
The inhabitants of the city have been pleased with the decision of the Royal Air Maroc to create a new route between TanTan and Casablanca, which will help the people of the southern provinces travel more easily between the south and the north, especially in more comfortable conditions particularly for the old and the sick.
“Of course this is a great initiative towards attracting more tourists and foreign investors to the region which has abundant natural, cultural and touristic potential that have not yet been exploited positively and professionally,” the owner of a restaurant in El Watya beach told MWN.
But the absence of taxis or special buses to carry the customers of Royal Air Maroc from the gate of the airport to the check-in desk and the departure and arrival gate makes it hard for travelers who have to carry their bags for a long distance inside a deserted open space with no security.
“If ever a tourist or traveler were attacked while walking inside the airport alone, the event would undoubtedly harm the future of investment and tourism in the region. This is why the local authorities and the company should act before it is too late and provide a bus for the clients of Tan Tan Airport,” a passenger told MWN in Tan Tan.
