The two cartoonists Cabu and Tignous, of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, have died in the shooting massacre, which claimed the lives of 10 journalists and two policemen.
According to media sources, three armed individuals wearing black are believed to be involved in the shooting.
“We’ve avenged the honor of the prophet,” the killers allegedly shouted following the attack, according to witnesses quoted by Sky News.
The alleged armed men are currently being chased by an anti-crime brigade in the French capital, the same source added.
French President Francois Hollande reportedly arrived at the scene of the shooting, and will hold an emergency government meeting, according to Reuters.
“This is a terrorist attack, there is no doubt about it,” He told reporters.
