Bissau – The official visit that King Mohammed VI is paying to Guinea Bissau as of Thursday “confirms the interest that the Sovereign is granting to this brother country in need of more support and stability,” said Morocco’s minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar.
“This visit, the first of the kind, confirms the interest granted by the Sovereign to this West African country which has experienced very difficult moments and needs more support and stability to preserve the state’s institutions,” Mezouar told the press.
He added that this visit, part of royal tour to four African countries, seeks to promote Morocco’s relations with this West African country and lay down new bases, stressing that the signing of 15 bilateral agreements and a tripartite agreement “serves the interest of economic and human development of the two countries”.
Regarding bilateral cooperation, Mezouar noted that the sectors of agriculture energy, water and health held the priority during the Royal trip.
King Mohammed VI started on Thursday afternoon a visit to Guinea Bissau, after Senegal, as part of a tour that will also include Cote d’Ivoire and Gabon.
