Rabat – An 11-year-old Moroccan boy died on Wednesday while aboard a Royal Air Maroc RAM flight, from Casablanca to Bologna, Italy.

A statement by the Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport said the teen, whose name was not released, died on board from a heart attack.

According to the same source, Guglielmo Marconi Airport was notified that one of the passengers had a medical situation on the aircraft.

Paramedics were immediately sent to wait for the plane on the tarmac. They intervened once the aircraft landed.

Despite the life-saving efforts that lasted for over 40 minutes, doctors could not save the teen’s life, as his heart did not respond and stopped beating.

The statement concluded that the victim suffered from deformities and a difficulty in breathing, which caused the heart attack.

To date, Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc RAM has not released any statements regarding this incident.

This teen is the second passenger to pass away on a RAM flight because of a heart attack. In June 2014, a 68-year-old Moroccan man died on a RAM flight from Brussels to Tangier from a heart attack.
