Rabat – The English comedian, Rowan Atkinson, is said to have chosen to spend New Year’s Eve in the city of Marrakech with his daughter Lilly.
Known for his silent acting through the character of ‘Mr. Bean’, the funnyman has already booked in one of the finest resorts in Marrakech, according to media sources.
Aljarida24 reported that he will be spending one week in the Red City with his daughter.
Rowan Atkinson divorced Sunetra Sastry last month, after a 23-year marriage. They had two children, Lily, an actress, and Benjamin.
In recent years, Marrakech has become one of the favorite destinations for world stars. According to a ranking published by the famous French Magazine Gala in April 2014, the “Red City” figured among the world’s most visited destinations.
In 2014, celebrities and influential figures from all corners of the world, such as the Real Madrid star, Karim Benzema, and France’s former president Nicolas Sarkozy, picked Morocco’s “Southern Pearl” as their New Year destination.
This year, a list of prominent celebrities has visited Marrakech and expressed their love for the Moroccan city, including Argentina’s soccer legend Diego Maradona and Real Madrid’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Marrakech has gone international by all measures. An epitome of the Kingdom’s tolerance, diversity and stability, the Southern Pearl, known for being the favorite go-to places for international celebs, is increasingly stealing the spotlights from other world destinations.
