New York – Sophia Fouzia Leaguedi, a Moroccan business woman living in Chicago has been recognized by one of the most prestigious programs for women entrepreneurs around the world.

Leaguedi has been awarded the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Year Award for her exceptional work as head of her own company Ameroc Export Inc, specializing in the export of products from American companies to foreign countries.

She expressed her happiness for the award, and pointed out that hard work always pays off.

“The greatest gifts in life are not purchased but acquired through hard work and determination,” Leaguedi told Morocco Word News.

The annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards pays tribute to women business owners who “demonstrate that they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities,” according to the magazine’s press release.

Sophia, along with other awarded females will be honored at the 14th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration & Conference at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove in Miami, Florida between February 28 and March 1, 2016.

The successful Moroccan was nominated in one of seven categories, winning the award in the “up to $1 million in annual revenues” category for her company.

“The recipients of the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Year Award represent an amazing group of women entrepreneurs from across the United States and as far away as China, Egypt, South Africa, Uganda, the United Kingdom and Portugal,” Monica Smiley, Publisher/CEO of Enterprising Women said.

Headquartered in North Carolina, Enterprising Women “is the nation’s only women-owned magazine published exclusively for women business owners that chronicles the growing political, economic and social influence and power of entrepreneurial women”.

It is published in both print and digital forms, where the online magazine reaches one million readers in 185 countries.

Sophia Fouzia Leaguedi graduated from Rabat’s Mohamed V University before pursuing a career in management and business at Los Angeles Pierce College.

In November 2014, Sophia was chosen as part of a group of the 15 most influential suburban women in business. She received an award granted by the Chicago-based Daily Herald Business Ledger.
