Israel Indicts Two Jewish Terrorists Over Palestinian Arson Attack

New York – After five long months awaiting an indictment, Israeli prosecutors indicted on Sunday, two Jewish terrorists responsible for the arson attack on a Palestinian home on July 31, 2015.

Amiram Ben-Uliel, 21, was charged as the main suspect. The two Jewish terrorists torched a home in the village of Duma in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, burning alive 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh, causing death of his parents.

The crime angered Palestinians, and caused several clashes between Palestinians and Israelis for three months.

The attack was recognized and denounced by Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “This is an act of terrorism in every respect. The State of Israel takes a strong line against terrorism regardless of the perpetrators,” the PM tweeted in August.

“We will not allow Jewish terrorists to harm the lives of Palestinians in Judea and Samaria,” Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said in a statement.

“We will fight against them firmly and with all means and tools at our disposal,” he added.

However, Palestinians claimed that Israeli authorities did not take the necessary steps to resolve the case and a feeling of “skewed justice” was present among Palestinians who argued that the law was not being applied to Israeli militants the same way as Palestinian militants.

According to France24’s correspondent in Tel Aviv, the indictments were part of a thorough investigation on anti-Arab attacks and more suspects were charged on Sunday ruling.

“At least three of the other suspects might be sons of influential religious figures and rabbis in the orthodox communities,” France 24 said citing Israeli media.

Israel’s Shin Bet security service says that Ben-Uliel and Reuveni admitted to carrying out the arson attack, claiming it was an act of “retaliation for the killing of an Israeli a month earlier”.

Yet, the lawyer of one of the criminals said that his client’s confession was forced due to sleep deprivation and being tied upside down by his interrogators.

According to the same source, the Jewish terrorists in this case are part of the so-called “Hilltop Youth,” a leaderless group of young militants who constantly attack Palestinian land.

In December, Israeli police seized a video where a group of Jewish extremists were seen celebrating the death of Palestinian baby Ali Dawabsheh, during a wedding in Israel.

The shocking footage, broadcast by Israeli Channel 10, showed a crowd of young Orthodox Jews dancing to loud music while holding guns, knives, Molotov cocktails, and stabbing photos of baby Ali.

According to the same source, the wedding was of a couple “very well known in the radical right,” and the people at the wedding were alleged friends of the Dawabsheh murderers
