Taroudant – American Media Abroad, an institution of U.S. Administration, hailed the efforts of the Moroccan media, such as Mohammed VI Radio and Assadissa TV channel, in effort to fight against radicalization in Morocco.

According to the Moroccan Daily Moroccan authorities have received encouragement from the US Administration on this issue.

According to the Moroccan Daily, the U.S. administration said, “thanks to Mohammed VI radio and Assadissa TV channel, Morocco has managed to reduce the effect of radicalization..

According to the Moroccan newspaper, Faissal Laraichi, the president of the National Society of Radio-diffusion and Television (SNRT) received a copy of the report from American Media Abroad, hailing the effort made by the Moroccan media to combat terroristic efforts to radicalize Moroccans.

Akhbar Al Yaoum said, the US Administration is satisfied with the Moroccan experience in the fight against radicalization through the media, adding that the Moroccan model should be followed by all Arab countries.

The same source added that the U.S. institution said, the two Moroccan media outlets attract a significant number of viewers and listeners.

America Abroad Media said, “Moroccans who follow these two media outlets are estimated at 6.3 million,” which is already “an important figure” since the Moroccan population is about 33 million.

The Moroccan religious model received an international acclaim after religious reforms launched by King Mohammed that aim to give a correct image of Islam, that preaches coexistence, tolerance and respect to other religions.

For this purpose, Morocco set up an institute in March 2015, which managed to equip imams with the tools to fight against the radicalization of young Muslims.
