Rabat – Dounia Productions, a Moroccan company headed by Dounia Benjelloun, won 15 awards for four of her entries to the US International Film & Video Festival in Los Angeles.

Three documentary films by Dounia Productions, “Women in Amazigh Music,” “Amazigh Wedding in the Anergui Valley,” and “The Little Maestros,” were each given awards at the festival for their contribution to Moroccan cultural heritage and Amazigh music, with two Silver Screens and 10 Certificates of Creative Excellence.

Contributors to the three works included director Farida Benlyazid, cinematographer Hamid Ait Lachquare and editor Abderrahim Mettour.

Together, they won 15 awards, in addition to a nomination for Best of Festival – Corporate for the four entries in 2016.

The US International Film & Video Festival, started in 1967, offers five smaller competitions in one by recognizing outstanding corporate, education, entertainment, documentary, and student productions.

Ms. Benjelloun has worked in the global film production sector in a variety of functions, from marketing and publicity to distribution development.

The Festival awarded two Golden Cameras and Silver Screen to the publicity film: “Let us dream of a new world,” produced for a campaign for BMCE Bank of Africa. It was also nominated for Best of Festival among thousand films in this competition.
