Washington D.C. – Donald Trump told Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Monday that he denies ever suggesting that “Muslims” should be screened more often than other groups of people.

“I never said the term ‘Muslim,’” Trump said on Fox News, “I’m saying we’re going to profile people that maybe look suspicious, I didn’t say they were Muslims.”

Trump mentions that he plans to develop a higher frequency of “profiling. ”Trump claims that the integration of profiling is not geared toward any specific group of people, especially “Muslims.” However, this is not the first time Trump has contradicted himself when being questioned.

Shortly after the San Bernadino, CA shooting, Trump released a statement for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Although Trump never used the term “racial profiling” or “Muslim profiling,” his bigoted rhetoric has proven to blend literal words with generalizations about an entire group of people.

“I’m not using the term Muslim…I’m saying we’re going to have to start profiling. And I don’t know if it’s that bad, but certainly it’s not a wonderful thing. But we have a country to keep safe. And you know, and I know, it’s going to get worse” Trump said during the same interview.

In August, Trump created caused a backlash on social media after he was challenged  by Khizr Khan, an immigrant who spoke in honor of his son, Humayun Khan, 27, who fought and died in the Iraq War. Talking during the Democratic Party’s’ National Convention (DNC), Khan asked the real estate mogul if he had read the Constitution, adding that his son would have never put his feet on the had Donald Trump been president at the time.

Instead of showing for Khan’s family, Trump Reacted his remarks, and asked why Khan’s wife was not allowed to speak at the DNC.

His answer caused a stir on social with thousands condemning it.
