Paris – French President Francois Hollande confirmed his personal commitment as well as France’s commitment to the success of the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP22), scheduled for November in Marrakech, Foreign Affairs minister Salaheddine Mezouar said following an audience Thursday at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

Mezouar, President of COP 22, told the press the audience focused on the COP 22, coordination between the Moroccan and French Presidencies of the COP and commitments and projects that were announced at the Paris conference.

“It was also an opportunity to establish the priorities on which we must act before the COP 22, including anything that is related to the roadmap to reach $100 billion a year by 2020 in favor of developing countries and capacity building,” he added.

Talks also focused on the need to speed up the execution of the projects to be announced at COP 22, Mezouar said.

The Moroccan minister also hailed the signing of the Paris Agreement on climate change by China and the United States, saying that this will give a strong momentum to the ratification process across the world.

Morocco and France are mobilized and working together for the ratification of the Paris Agreement by the international community before the Marrakech Conference, he concluded.
