The University’s event, titled “Pre COP 22” will take place on October 24-30 and will serve as an introduction to the UN event, which takes place from the 7th to the 18th of November.

The University has, “been mobilized for several months, in preparation for the climate change conference and for COP 22.” It has also “announced a call for initiative among its components in relation to climate change and sustainable development.”

The university has become a center for public awareness campaigns and lectures. The Pre-COP 22 event is a culmination of these actions and serves as the final event before the UN conference opens.

The Pre-COP 22 event will address the same issues as the COP 22 event. Talks and events will focus on climate change and environmental preservation. The event will be an opportunity for many to get involved before COP 22 begins.

The inaugural conference of Pre-Cop 22 will be held at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia of Marrakech. Mr. Driss El Yazami, President of the National Council for Human Rights and President of the Civil Society Pole will moderate the conference.

It will be attended by local and national figures as well as members of the university for a, “Collective mobilization to support COP 22.”
