Casablanca – A gas canister exploded inside a house on Monday in a popular neighborhood in Casablanca, causing two houses to collapse.
According to Arabic-speaking news source, the collapse caused a number of casualties. A preliminary assessment indicated that four people were injured, but no deaths had been reported.
Civil Protection and Securities Forces rushed to the neighborhood near the Haffari Market where the blast took place. The market is a famous popular commercial center in the city of Casablanca.
Most of the houses in the area are old and rickety, which often exacerbates the damage when minor explosions or fires occur.
The whole area remains in a state of alert.
