Rabat – The election administration which succeeded in organizing Friday’s parliamentary elections in terms of logistics helped ensure the credibility and transparency of the voting process, the president of Morocco’s national human rights council (CNDH) Driss El Yazami said Sunday in Rabat.

In terms of management, the electoral process was beyond reproach, he added during the presentation of the CNDH preliminary conclusions on the 2016 parliamentary elections, noting that these elections mark a new regular election cycle and consecrate the standardization of the voting practices in Morocco.

The respect of the periodicity of elections is required to strengthen the national democratic process in a troubled regional political context, he added.

These elections were monitored by 68 national and international bodies with some 4,681 observers against 3,498 in 2011, an increase of 34 %.

Some 316 foreign observers monitored these elections.

The CNDH is to release its final report on these elections that will include the Council’s recommendations.
