Rabat – Morocco’s National Team coach, Hervé Renard, has reportedly decided not to reveal the name of the player who will replace injured offensive midfielder, Younes Belhanda during the 2017 African Cup of Nations (CAN), scheduled to take place in Gabon, January 14th.
Renard is staying mum despite the negative reaction from Moroccan fans over his decision to exclude AFC Ajax’s superstar, Hakim Ziyech, who just awarded Holland’s best player for 2016.
The injury to Belhanda’s left foot occurred during Nice’s match against Toulouse on December 4th and was confirmed Sunday via an announcement by the administrative office for France’s team.
19-year-old Nantes midfielder, Amine Harit is rumoured to be a potential replacement for Belhanda. Renard is looking to place Harit among the national team players, acknowledging the desire of many international clubs, such as Liverpool, Bayern and AC Milan, who have shown a keen interest in Harit.
