Marrakesh – The “Yves Saint Laurent” museum, to be opened in Marrakesh, will show an important aspect of Morocco and its culture, said Pierre Bergé, chairman of the Jardin Majorelle Foundation.
“The museum is going to be more than an Yves Saint Laurent museum, it will be a cultural center that shows a significant aspect of Morocco,” Bergé told the press after the audience granted to him by HM King Mohammed VI.
“I was pleased, during this audience, to hear the Sovereign talk about culture in general, and Moroccan culture in particular, and to notice HM the King’s interest in promoting this field,” Bergé added.
He said he is “very honored” by the award given to him by the Sovereign. “It’s a great day, and I feel a bit more Moroccan,” Bergé said.
HM King Mohammed VI received, on Thursday at the Marrakesh Royal Palace, the chairman of the Jardin Majorelle Foundation. On this occasion, the Sovereign decorated Pierre Bergé with the Alawite Wissam Grand Cordon.
