Paris – France, on Tuesday, hailed the “historic” return of Morocco to the African Union (AU).
“This is a major step towards unity, stability and development of the African continent,” spokesman of the French Foreign ministry, Romain Nadal, said in a statement.
“France is at the disposal of all African countries to work together to achieve these objectives,” he added.
“We are pleased to continue our close cooperation with the African Union to promote stability and peace throughout the African continent, and its sustainable development,” said the French Foreign ministry.
An overwhelming majority of African countries on Monday voted in favor of Morocco’s return to the African Union, during the 28th Summit of African Heads of State and Government.
