Rabat – King Felipe VI of Spain on Thursday reiterated his country’s will to consolidate its “privileged” relationship with Morocco and further deepen them.
“In the Maghreb, we have a privileged relationship with Morocco that we want to further preserve and deepen,” King Felipe VI said at the traditional annual reception offered by the Spanish sovereigns in honor of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Spain.
According to a statement of the Spanish Royal House, King Felipe VI also highlighted the importance granted by Madrid to strengthening its relations with the countries on the southern shore of the Mediterranean.
He also noted that his country had, over the past decades, worked to strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and Africa.
“Our wish is to organize during the current legislature a Spain-Africa Summit that would contribute to greater rapprochement between the two sides and which would promote the establishment of a common agenda for peace, security and prosperity,” King Felipe VI concluded.
