Rabat – The governmental coalition in Morocco decided to postpone presenting its program in parliament to next week.
The coalition of six parties that make up Saad Eddine Othmani’s government rescheduled the presentation for Tuesday reportedly because the program needed some “adjustments.”
A technical committee, representing the six parties, gave the head of government a draft of the program on Monday April 10.
Othmani convened a government council to discuss the program before its presentation in parliament.
The head of government denied, in a meeting with his party members, that his cabinet will back away from previous reforms of the Compensation Fund.
Justice and Development Party (PJD) former leader is reportedly under pressure by his allies. Othmani expressed the intention to include people with severe disability to the subventions being distributed to widows and orphans.
But, this decision might be opposed by PJD’s allies who fear the party may use this for political gains in future elections.
