Rabat – Egyptian media has shared footage showing the moment an Islamic State suicide bomber blew himself up outside of St. Mark’s Coptic Church in Alexandria on Sunday.
The video, filmed by the church’s surveillance cameras, shows the ISIS militant carrying out the suicide bombing at the gate of the church.
Eleven people died as a result and dozens were injured. Leader of the Coptic Church, Pope Tawadros II, was attending mass inside the church when the blast occurred but was unhurt.
A second blast occurred when a bomb exploded near the altar inside St. George’s Coptic Church in Tanta, located approximately 100 kilometers outside of Cairo. Over 130 people have been reported injured in both blasts.
