Rabat – Find events where you can experience authentic Moroccan cultural scenes through the many concerts, lectures, and festivals taking place this week in the Kingdom.

Classical Music Concert Rabat

April 3-9 Must See Cultural Events

The Royal Symphonic Orchestra presents a classical music concert to refresh your ears. Acclaimed violist Alexander ViniItski will bring to life the music of two towering figures in the realm of classical music, namely Tchaikovsky and R. Rachmaninov. The program will include:

  • “Memory of an Expensive Place: 1. Meditation, 2. Scherzo, 3. Melody” Op.42 by P. I. Tchaikovsky.
  • “Sérénade Mélancolique” for violin and orchestra Op.26 by Tchaïkovski.
  • “Valse-Scherzo” for violin and orchestra Op.34 by Tchaïkovski.
  • “Symphonic Dances” Op.45 by R. Rachmaninov.

The concert will take place at the Mohammad V theater, in Rabat on April 4.

Public Lecture

The Cross-Cultural Learning Center is organizing a public lecture under the theme “Ibn Battuta in the Cosmopolitan World of the Fourteenth Century,” presented by American Historian and Writer Ross E. Dunn.

The lecture promises to open “a traveling gate back to the fragrant history of Ibn Battuta adventures,” to enable the audience to explore “its priceless journey and exceptional dimensions.” The lecture is set for April 6 at the Center for Cross Cultural Learning, in Rabat.

Balade en Mer

Agadir Events Tourism offers a day of relaxation on a boat in the heart of the Atlantic. The program will include a fishing session, deep-water swimming and a lunch on board and will take place in Agadir on April 8.

LP in concert at Jazzablanca Festival

April 3-9 Must See Cultural Events

Artist Laura Pergolizzi, known for her stage name LP, will perform a concert as part of the Jazzablanca festival. She is a singer-songwriter and pop-rock figure from New York.  For a long time she preferred to work behind the scenes, co-writing songs for the likes of Rihanna (Cheers), Christina Aguilera (Beautiful people), Heidi Montag and Cher Lloyd. She’s now in the spot light thanks to her EP Death Valley, which features famous singles Lost on You and Muddy Waters. The concert will take place during  Jazzblanca, at the Hippodrome in Casablanca on April 8.

Concert Heat Spirit & Ahmed Lbahja

The band Jdidi Heat Spirit invites you to a colorful, musical evening, with an appearance of the young gnaoui Ahmed Lbahja. The event is free and accessible for all, so don’t miss out on the authentic gnaoui vibes the evening will offer on April 8 in the Centre culturel, Les Étoiles de Sidi Moumen, in Casablanca.

Hypnosis or the Art of Change

The Ayaso Concept Store is hosting a session of Ericksonian Hypnosis, a solution-oriented therapy that “helps in solving problems related to health, allergies, psychology, addictions, relaxation, stress, concentration, and memory.”

This type of hypnosis is centered on change. It allows one to discover one’s potential and improve one’s life quality, to regain a state of well-being. The session is open for everyone and will take place on April 6 at Ayaso Concept Store, in Marrakech.

Les Opens du Rire : Edition 0

April 3-9 Must See Cultural Events

The Opens of Laughter by LSD Comedy group welcomes you to a night of stand-up comedy hosted by five talented comedians, namely Gad Lahlou, Mimo Lazrak, Hervé Ramparani, Othman Hassani Benmansour and Mustapha Lachhab. Each comedian will present a routine 6-8 minutes long. The evening will be presented by Saad Mabrouk (LeChild) on April 3, at La Fol Casablanca, in Casblanca.
