Rabat – The Progress and Socialism Party (PPS) has secured three ministerial portfolios in the new government.
During the ministers’ appointment ceremony, which is currently taking place in Rabat’s Royal Palace, Nabil Benabdallah, Houcine Wardi, and Charafat Afilal, who had already been minsters in the former government led by Abdelilah Benkirane, were appointed to ministerial portfolios.
Nabil Benabdallah, Secretary General of the party, remained as Minister of Housing and Urbanism in Saad Eddine Othmani’s government.
Houcine Wardi, who was the Minister of Health in the former government, retained the same positon over the coming years.
With regard to the position of Charafat Afilal, who was the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment in charge of water, appointed asSecretary of State to the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, in charge of Water
The PPS, one of the six parties leading the coalition government, secured 12 seats in the legislative elections, held on October 7, 2016.
