Rabat – Morocccan rapper, Karim Kharbouch, commonly known as French Montana, has released the video for his brand new single, “Unforgettable,” featuring young American singer and songwriter, Khalif Malikibnsham Brown, better known by his nickname, Swae Lee.

The video clip for his new single was shot in Ugranda’s capital, Kampala. So far, the video has racked up more than 9,500,000 views.

The Moroccan rapper has chosen a unique photograph to announce the video’s release, posting a photograph of his parents’ wedding on his Instagram account. It shows his mother dressed in a traditional Moroccan outfit originating from Fes, often referred to as ”Lebssa Fassia” in Morocco.

The picture of my mother and father at their wedding in Africa is my favorite picture. It’s unforgettable for so many reasons since it was the same year I was born and the same year my father was incarcerated for unfortunate circumstances. He named me from jail. After he was released, we were granted US visas and in 1996 I went on my first plane to go to America. I didn’t know any English. It was tough because I thought we were moving into the high rises of NYC, but we ended up in the back streets of the South Bronx lol. It was still better than back home in Morocco, but my father had a hard time and wanted to move back. My mother knew we couldn’t because there weren’t any opportunities there and she sacrificed a lot for us to survive in the states. We were on welfare and she worked overtime to keep us fed, clothed and a roof over our heads. I promised my mother that I would hustle and make my accomplishments unforgettable once I found my opportunity. I want other people who might be struggling to know that the sky is not the limit… You can do unforgettable things, so I present to you my single “Unforgettable”. Feat @swaelee

The rapper said that he found this picture unforgettable for many reasons. Firstly, because it was also the year he was born. Secondly, it was the same year his father was jailed for unfortunate reasons.

“He named me from jail,” Kharbouch revealed.

The picture was accompanied by a brief text, where he told his fans about his early life and how he and his family ended up in the United States.

The 32-year-old rapper was born in Casablanca in 1984. He and his family immigrated to the U.S when he was 13.

The artist has also explained that his mother made sacrifices for the sake of her children in the absence of their father, and tried to make a good place for them all in a foreign country.

Kharbouch sent out an encouraging message in his brief story, telling his fans that the “sky is not the limit,” adding that they can create unforgettable memories through their life’s journey.
