Rabat – Souad Rahmouni El Tayeb, the Moroccan director of the French Arabic speaking radio station “Monte Carlo Doualiya” (MCD), has been awarded the Legion of Honor, chevalier class by the French President François Hollande.

In a speech at ceremony, the French President praised Rahmouni for her success in rejuvenating the station’s programs and leading the development of MCD’s digital platform to connect with all potential listeners.

Hollande also saluted MCD’s participation in School Media Week, where news outlets meet with students and teach them about the media, organized in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the satirical newspaper “Charlie Hebdo”.

“Souad El Tayeb, you are French of Moroccan origins, and you are proud of belonging to these two countries and having a dual nationality. This is how you can be of the greatest service to France,” said the French President.
