Rabat – King Mohammed VI and French President Francois Hollande visited Saturday the exhibition “Treasures of Islam in Africa, from Timbuktu to Zanzibar”, which continues until 30 July at the Arab World Institute (IMA). in Paris.
On this occasion, King Mohammed VI and French President François Hollande accompanied by the President of the Arab World Institute, Jack Lang, toured through the different parts of the exhibition, which offers a three-stage tour: the propagation of Islam, the practices of religion, “the arts of Islam”.
This unprecedented exhibition is devoted to the close, past and present ties between the Arab-Muslim world and sub-Saharan Africa.
From Morocco to Senegal, through Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali and many other countries of the continent, the exhibition retraces several centuries of history through art and architecture.
The visit to the exhibition was attended by several personalities from the worlds of art, culture and politics.
