Rabat –  This week’s cultural events are in perpetual motion: shows to attend, concerts to enjoy, conferences for those who like debate, and a ballet performance not to be missed.

Round Table Women and Code of Succession in Morocco

May 1-7  Must See Cultural Events

 Hosted by the Aquarium Theater Association, which hosts social debates through theatrical productions, the round table will discuss reform of the inheritance code, which has become one of the demands of the women’s associations and feminist groups.

Participants will debate possible ways for reform that would strengthen equality between men and women. The event will take place on May 3 at Salle Gérard Philipe, Rabat.

Belle Au Bois Dormant

May 1-7  Must See Cultural Events

The dance school FIT N ‘DANCE is giving a three-act ballet performance entitled “Belle Au Bois Dormant”.

The performance will recount the story of the well known fairytale Aurora, with a little twist.

All fairy tale characters, such as the Little Red Riding Hood, the Blue Bird and Princess Florine, the Puss in Boots and the White Cat will attend the wedding of the Sleeping Beauty and her prince.

The organizers promise a fairy tale that will amaze both young and old. The event will take place on May 7 at National Theater Mohammed V in Rabat.

Let’s Talk Art

”Let’s Talk Art”, in partnership with the club EHTP Art, offers an “extraordinary” musical evening for the youth. Several Moroccan bands, such as Rock-butter and Afro Samba Moondust will give performances .

The evening also promises many other surprises. The event will take place on May 6 at the École Hassania des Travaux Publics, Casablanca.

Traveler’s Tale

Traveler’s Tale is an event that “you don’t want to miss.” Returnees of AIESEC exchange programs will share with the audience their experiences as travelers, tell you what lies ahead on the road, will stoke your imagination, inspire and teach you, answering your what, when, where, how and how much? The event promises that the Returnees stories will make you want to pack your bag and follow your dreams of traveling the world. The event takes place on May 4, at EMAA, in Agadir.

Laughter Workshop

May 1-7  Must See Cultural Events

 An graduate trained in “rigologie” at the International School of Laughter will offer a laughter workshop combining laughing yoga exercises, playful sophrology, positive psychology, emotional hygiene and bio-relaxation.

The event will take place on Sunday, May 7 at the Tabadoul Center in Tangier.

Northern Regional Debate Competition

This year’s Northern Regional Debate Competition will be held at ENA Tétouan. The event invites all lovers of debate to join in in promoting the joys of argumentation. Teams qualified to the semi finals will be given the chance to participate in Morocco;s only debate competition with “the best debaters from all over Morocco.”

The event will take place on May 6, at the National School of Architecture in Tetouan.

Ohayo Japan!

May 1-7  Must See Cultural Events

 The JapaMines club, in collaboration with the student-engineers association of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Rabat, invites you to the first edition of its event, “OHAYO JAPAN!”

The event will encompass drawing workshops, cooking, origami as well as sessions of Karaoke and Just Dance as well as a conference discuss the impact of Japanese culture on Morocco. The cultural day will be wrapped up by a projection of a Japanese film. The event will take place on May 6 at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Rabat.
