Rabat – Abdelilah Benkirane, dismissed appointed Head of Government and  current Secretary General of the Justice and Development Party (PJD),  was bombarded by requests for selfies after performing Layla Al-Qadr prayers in Rabat.

After a long period away from the public eye, Benkirane stole the limelight on Wednesday evening.

A video shared on social media shows  Benkirane happy to pose for pictures, although he appears eager to get on his way.

The PJD leader was appointed as Head of Government in October 2016 to form a government coalition  after his party won the most votes of the legislative elections. However after six months of post-election deadlock, Benkirane was dismissed by King Mohammed VI, who replaced by him with his partisan PJD colleague Saad Eddine Othmani in April.
