Rabat – After allegations that a police vehicle deliberately mauled over a demonstrator on Tuesday evening in the town of Imzouren, the DGSN published a communique in which it firmly denies these accusations.
A 50-second video footage showing a group of people gathering around a police vehicle that has supposedly deliberately rushed on a demonstrator according to the claims of one the persons present on the scene has been massively shared on social networks
The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement on Wednesday that the national security services “took this video very seriously and consulted the police station in Imzouren,” which according to the comments of the video was the presumed site of the incident.
The DGSN stressed that “no incident of this kind had been recorded.” However, according to the same source, “careful field investigations revealed that the background of the video shows Allal Ben Abdellah Avenue in Al Hoceima and more precisely at the street near Rif Square.”
The same investigations revealed that the police vehicle “did not strike or mauled over any person either voluntarily or unintentionally as was conveyed on this video,” adds the same source.
