Rabat – Settat’s Hassan II hospital in the Casablanca-Settat region has received fifteen children stung by scorpions in different towns in Settat province.
The hospital’s emergency room witnessed a crowd when several families rushed their children to the medical center after they were stung by scorpions in numerous towns in the province of Settat, including Douar Oulad Said, Guisser and Oulad Friha.
According to news platform, Ahdath Info, three of the children are in serious condition, while the rest were discharged from the hospital following their treatment.
The same source added that a one-year old child had died from a scorpion sting on Saturday.
Summer is when predatory arachnids, including scorpions, are at their most active due to the high temperatures.
Settat is located 164 kilometers from Morocco’s capital, Rabat.
