Rabat – The headmaster of Sabra Secondary School in the northern province of Nador was dismissed after he included a mobile top-up card with the value of MAD 10 within the list of necessary school supplies.
The Ministry of Education “immediately” sent a delegation to the school after a photo of the school supply list went viral on Moroccan social media.
A press release issued by the ministry said the headmaster was dismissed because he included items on the list that are not stipulated by the ministry, notably an enrollment fee and the Maroc Telecom mobile top-up card.
In response, an administrative official from the school said that the headmaster included the mobile top-up card on the list following a meeting with the school’s parents’ association.
