Rabat – Spanish Barcelona star Jordi Alba has showed solidarity with Qatar in the ongoing Gulf crisis by signing a t-shirt printed with the image of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The footballer signed the shirt while on a promotional visit to Doha with his teammates Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets on Wednesday.
Alba has become the latest Spanish footballer who expressed solidarity with Qatar during its blockade by a Saudi Arabia-led alliance of six Arab nations.
In June, Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona’s former key player, posted a video on AlSadd Sports Club’s official twitter account calling for an end to the Gulf crisis. “I would like to call for an end to the crisis in the Arab world and the end of the blockade against Qatar,” he stated in the video.

Away from political crisis, pictures of Alba, Busquets and Pique have gone viral on social media networks while the footballers were on a day trip to Qatar’s dunes.
During their desert hangout, Pique has been posting pictures and videos of the buggy-tour. The buggy however ended up flipping over into its side. The defender, afterward posted another tweet showing that both the buggy’s riders (Pique and the driver) were able to walk away from the desert vehicle.

The trio also paid a visit to Aspire Academy, a multi-sport skills building. They were later surrounded by hundreds of Barcelona’s fans in the Mall of Qatar.
