Rabat – Moroccan songwriter Nabil Achraf has accused a group of Israeli singers of plagiarizing his song ‘Maskhitch Bik’, which was originally performed by renowned Moroccan Chaabi singer Hajja Hamdaouia alongside Ismail Tetouani.
On Friday, the lyricist published a post on his official Facebook account, where he announced that his song had been ripped off by Israeli singers Moran Carmel and Shlomi Malka. Achraf called for Moroccan media support and help.
Better known as ‘L’mima’ (My Mother), the original Moroccan song was published on YouTube in November 2014, while the plagiarized version was published in 2016.
Not only does it appear that the Israeli singers plagiarize the song, but they also copied some of the original music video.
