Morocco climbed to fifth place in the FIFA World Rankings after defeating Scotland 1-0. Ismail Saibari scored the only goal of the match in the second minute, sealing a victory that lifted the Atlas Lions above Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium in the rankings.
Saibari found the net after an organized attacking move finished with a precise shot beyond the Scottish goalkeeper, giving Morocco an early advantage in the game.
Morocco started the match with goalkeeper Yassine Bounou and a defensive line lead by Noussair Mazraoui, Chadi Riad, Issa Diop and Achraf Hakimi.
In midfield, Nael El Aynaoui, Ayoub Bouaddi, Bilal El Khannouss, Azzedine Ounahi and Brahim Diaz were entrusted with controlling the game, while Ismail Saibari led the attacking line.
The Moroccan national team displayed good harmony between its lines and managed the different phases of the match effectively after taking the early lead, strengthening its position in the group and moving a step closer to securing qualification for the knockout stage.
