Rabat – The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has responded to a Moroccan online media outlet which published a video of an assault with a sensational title.
Arabic-language news website Casacity.com published
The website claimed the victim was assaulted after he refused to “satisfy the sexual desires of the attacker.” The title of the video also suggested that incident is recent.
DGSN refuted the website’s claims through a communiqué on Thursday, saying the video was published two years ago.
On Youtube, the date of the posting of the video indicates that it had been uploaded on July 30, 2015.
Contrary to Casacity’s claims, the national police agency revealed the incident took place after the two people, the attacker and the victim, had an altercation over a cigarette.
It further noted that police intervened at the time by arresting the suspect and “the person who incited the victim to give a false testimony about the true reason behind their disagreement,” adding that both suspects were then referred to the competent judiciary authorities.
