Rabat – Google’s most used services, including Gmail, have suffered continuous shutdowns in different regions, including Europe, North America and Japan, according to international media.
The reason behind the outages is still not clear.
Google services experienced serious issues in parts of the United Kingdom, France, and North America. The most affected services included Gmail and Google Drive, according to British media outlet, the Independent.
Drive’s affected users were unable to access their files, while Gmail prevented people from sending and receiving messages, added the newspaper.
Down Detector, a site that measures e-services across the world, revealed that the most reported problems were related to accessing accounts, which represent a peak of 61 percent. The reports were mainly registered between September 7, 13, and 14.
After receiving the numerous reports, Google Drive said that “the problem with Google Drive should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.”
“Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better,” Googe Drive added.
Earlier this week, Google’s users took to social networks to complain about the outage.
FYI: According to social media + own experience in my district, #Google #Drive is currently down (internationally). #GoogleEDU #EdTech #GAEd
