Rabat – At least 20 people were killed and more than 100 wounded after a gunman opened a fire Sunday night at a country music festival near the Mandalay Bay casino on the Las Vegas strip.

The shooter fired from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, before being shot by police. The suspect was identified by the police but will not be naming him at the moment, reported American news outlet CNN.

Confirming that one suspect is down. This is an active investigation. Again, please do not head down to the Strip at this time.

Officers then apprehended the suspect, whom Joseph Lombardo, sheriff at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, described as a “local resident.”

Police are now searching for a woman named Marilou Danley who was traveling with the attacker. There are no other suspects involved, added Lombardo.
