Rabat - The provinces of Ouarzazate and Tinghir have sought to improve their cultural infrastructure by launching on Saturday the construction of a cultural center in Tinghir and signing an agreement on setting up a similar center in Ouarzazate, reported state press agency Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
Rabat – The provinces of Ouarzazate and Tinghir have sought to improve their cultural infrastructure by launching on Saturday the construction of a cultural center in Tinghir and signing an agreement on setting up a similar center in Ouarzazate, reported state press agency Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
Minister of Culture and Communication Mohamed Laaraj gave the kick-off to start the construction of a cultural center with a budget of MAD 12.6 million.
The project will include a 350-seat auditorium, a rehearsal room, a library, a computer room, and administrative offices.
The Ministry of Culture also signed a partnership agreement with the commune of Ouarzazate to create a cultural center featuring a 400-seat theater, a library, an exhibition hall, a computer room and administrative offices.
The agreement, initialed by the Minister of Culture and the president of the commune, Drissi Abderrahman, aims in particular to contribute to local cultural life and encourage artistic and cultural creation at local and regional levels.
The convention was signed during a ceremony on the sidelines of a study day held in Ouarzazate, to examine the actions to be implemented aiming to invigorating the Drâa-Tafilalet region.
